FAMOUS ARTIST Danso Awuah-Asante

Danso Awuah-Asante, best known as Nana Danso, is a contemporary artist born in Tamale and currently living and working from Accra,Ghana. A key player in the Accra street art scene, he has gained international recognition from Travel and Leisure Magazine, TedX and has collaborated with global brands like Johnnie Walker, AfroFuture Festival, Samsung, Juls and Kwesi Arthur.

Nana’s work features a wide array of deceptively simple characters and personalities, addressing deep universal and existential themes. His childlike strokes and elementary shapes recall the simple yet complex imaginations of the human psyche, laying bare the limitless possibilities of how each individual perceives the world. Self-taught, Danso began prolifically painting and creating art as an outlet to tell what he believes are untold stories. His work fuses aspects of storytelling, poetry, and combines impressionism and pop-art techniques.
