Dot Ateliers

Dot Ateliers was created with the vision to cultivate an ecologically responsive and community-oriented destination within the community. The monolithic three-story structure will feature a gallery, studio, café, art library, office and external  yard. It was conceived as an “architectural tool” for rethinking the possibilities of sustainable design within this waterfront neighbourhood. Dot.ateliers space speaks to the desire of Amoako Boafo to strengthen the scope for art venues in his hometown.dot.ateliers was founded to provide non‑commercial, supportive space for artists to practice, experiment, and engage with the community. It aims to strengthen the creative ecosystem of Ghana by offering a well-equipped environment for both emerging and established artists.

Through its residency programs, the space facilitates exchange of perspectives, knowledge, and artistic expression enabling collaborations, experimentation, and cross-cultural dialogues among creatives.dot.ateliers regularly hosts exhibitions. 

For instance, in July–August 2025 they presented “some things just don’t wash off”, a group show of works by resident artists  highlighting the space’s role in showcasing contemporary expression and supporting artists. 

The residency program is open to artists of all backgrounds, providing studio space, materials stipend, accommodation (for non‑Accra residents), and opportunities for open‑studio events and group exhibitions, a strong platform for creative growth. 

The space welcomes a variety of creative disciplines  painting, sculpture, multimedia, potentially even writing/curatorial projects  emphasizing interdisciplinary exchange and experimentation.
