FAMOUS ARTIST Patience Kofuma Annan
Patience Kofuma Annan is a contemporary Ghanaian painter whose practice has garnered increasing prominence through her participation in major group exhibitions, including Fragments of Knowing at Berj Gallery’s Busua opening, as well as other curated shows across Accra.
Her work—intimate, textured explorations of memory, identity, and domestic life—has been exhibited alongside leading artists such as Owusu-Ankomah, James Cudjoe, and Kojo Biney. This growing visibility has positioned her as a notable voice within Ghana’s evolving contemporary art scene and earned her sustained curatorial interest.
Her recognition has been further strengthened through active social sharing of studio moments, works-in-progress, and exhibition documentation. These posts, shared both by Patience and by the galleries that represent or feature her, have expanded her reach among collectors, curators, and arts professionals locally and across the region.
Through her exhibitions, collaborations, and public programming, Patience contributes meaningfully to Ghana’s visual arts discourse. By centering intimate, memory-driven narratives and engaging in initiatives that connect artists, communities, and emerging gallery spaces, she helps deepen contemporary art’s relationship to place, personal history, and social memory in Ghana.
